Strong season openers for tennis club as teams secure some fine wins


Louth Tennis and Sports Centre have started their season off in winning style.

The Aegon Lincolnshire League Men’s Team travelled to Bourne for a close game.

Matt Boothby, Simon Pullen, Morgan Vickers and newcomer Ross Edgar were all square after the two rounds of singles and doubles matches.

In the Tie Break shootout Louth were 1-1 with Morgan and Simon to play the deciding doubles game. In a 10 point tie break they ran out winners to secure Louth a good win.

The Ladies Veterans team of Penny Danielarah Allinson, Claire Tye and Helen Dunning travelled to St James, Grimsby and were comfortable 4–0 winners. The Men’s Veterans played host to Rustons of Lincoln. The strong team of Ian Roscoe, Trevor Blades, Tim Srawson and Dibber Clark mastered the windy conditions very well and secured a good 3–1 victory.
