Top performance by East Coast Martial Arts team

EAST Coast Martial Arts is looking forward to building on the success of last year with more wins in 2012 after finishing with a great performance at the 2011 WUMA British Championships.

Roy Whitbread won the Adults Open Weapons Forms, took a bronze medal in the Adults Japanese Kata and a bronze medal in the Men’s Open-weight Veterans Points Fighting division.

Adam Beniston lost a fast final by just one point to take a silver medal in the Men’s Advanced -65kg Points Fighting.

Matty Buck won the Men’s Light-weight Strike & Grapple division, winning the final by submission.

Charles Buck won the Men’s Middle-weight Strike & Grapple division, winning the final by unanimous decision.

Instructor Adam Beniston also rounded off the year by fighting in several full contact events, beating a two times WKC World Champion at a large fight show in Manchester.

The fight was the headline exhibition bout on the NWCKB’s annual show, where Adam won two rounds to one.

Adam then fought as part of team ISKA Dollars at the highly prestigious Clash of the Titans in Huddersfield. The team came third overall, losing a close match to team GBMAA Elite.

The fighting was full contact with take-downs, and Adam has been asked to fight again for the team this year.
