A bumper entry enjoyed sunny race day as Woodthorpe Kart Club staged their annual Grand Prix meeting.
Many local drivers enjoyed success, particularly the Hartley family, from Cadwell, near Louth.
While dad Dayle retained his GP winning status it was his six-year-old son Liam who won the hearts of the crowds by claiming the bambino class (6-8 years).
In the Cadets, Alford’s Daniel Drury won the Comer Cadets race, and Ellis Rameda, from Wragby, finished third in the Hondas.
Waddingham driver Harvey Riby narrowly missed winning the Iame cadets prize with Scunthorpe’s Billy Draper crossing the line in third. Older brother Alfie Draper dominated the Mini-Max class as he has all year.
The Junior Max challenge between Chris Lake, from Spilsby, and Strubby’s William Ashe came to a premature end when William’s chain broke having led for half the race.
Another local duo who have been battling all season in Max-lights are Kurt Davies, from Ingoldmells, and Hogsthorpe’s Ollie Dunkerley. After swapping the lead all race, a backmarker handed the win to Kurt.
Brigg’s Sam Scott has been sharing the spoils all year with the eldest Draper brother, but this time Jamie came out on top. Market Rasen driver Joseph Gordon took the third podium position.
In the F100s class, Dayle Hartley recover well to win from Cleethorpes’ Scott Burton and Chris Balderson, from Louth.
The Open class was dominated all day by Skegness driver Taylor Woodward, ahead of Lincoln’s Grant Charge and Garry Jackson.
The exciting KZ125 was won by Grimsby’s Chad Hargrave from Louth’s Michael Kenney and Charlie Fox, from Gainsborough.
In the 250cc Gearbox category, Boston drivers took the honours with Chris Beeson winning from dad John.
Woodthorpe Kart Club hold race meetings on the fourth Sunday of every month. The next is round eight of the club championship on September 26 and 27.
