DESPITE being beaten 17-8 by Mix and Match in the week’s first round of games Oaks maintained top spot by two points in the Summer Triples League by following up with a comprehensive 20-3 victory over Two Plus One.

Mix and Match then missed the chance to share top billing after losing 12-8 to Mudlarks.

At the bottom Magnificent 7 haven’t yet lived up to their name and are still looking for their first points after narrow defeats against Two Plus One and Bujiars.

Preparation for next winter’s league fixtures are under way but due to a number of teams dropping out there are changes to three leagues.

The Monday evening EBF league has been reduced to just one division of eight teams and will use the early session only. The Ladies Triples will consist of one division of 11 or 12 teams which will provide a greater variety of oppositon. All games will be scheduled for a 2pm start.

The Monday Morning Triples (11.45am) has been reduced to one division of 13 teams, again resulting in a variety of opposition. The other leagues will continue in the same formats as last winter. There is room for new teams in all leagues but entries must be submitted within the next few weeks.

Winter league fixtures will begin on Monday September 12, and rink fees will increase to £2.30 per person from September 5.
