Alford rider Emma Bristow maintained her 100 per cent record in the Ladies’ British Trials Championship this season with a dominant display in Derbyshire.

Round five of the 2015 series took the ladies to the tough Bracken Rocks venue, near Matlock, where heavy early morning rain made the 12 hazards, ridden three times, even tougher.

But the sunshine eventually broke through to help dry the rocks as defending British champion Bristow took another win on the MRS Sherco.

She misjudged her speed on the step at section five, but this was her only stop on the opening lap as she took an early lead.

Bristow had the measure of the hazards on the second and third laps to bring her scores down further. She conceded no more five-mark penalties to eventually take a clear-cut win.

She said: “I’m very happy to have won today in the tough conditions.

“On the first lap it was quite difficult to understand how the hazards would ride as the rain had made them very slippery.

“This venue is never easy, but I love these difficult conditions as it brings out the best of my ability and the performance of the Sherco.”

Bristow has missed one of this year’s rounds because of her Enduro Championship commitments, but has otherwise dominated the championship with just two rounds to go.

She added: “The series allows you to miss one round so I have my eyes fixed on another British title for Sherco and all my sponsors.”
