A countback was needed to decide the Kenwick Park GC June monthly medal with the top four all tied in Division One.
Junior member Harry Wood won with 81-9=72, while runner-up Lewis Hackett shot the lowest gross score with a great round of 74. Ian Dickinson (82-10=72) was third from Mark Ringland (78-6=72).
Lewis Andrew (89-15=74) won Division Two with runner-up Sam Atkin scoring 75, and Will Oliver in third with nett 76.
* A keen northerly wind greeted competitors for the annual Ladies’ Open AM-AM competition.
Ann Norman, Kay Osborne, Fay Allison and Katie Dixon, from Brampton Park GC, in Cambridgeshire, won with 79 points, a point ahead of Kenwick Park’s Andrea Smaggasgale, Julia Labbett and Pam Hayward, playing with Sue Peacock (Immingham).
Moira Wilson, Tara Massey and Norah Ling (Seacroft), playing with Woodhall Spa’s Janette Hunter, came third with 77, and Kenwick’s Sue Fisher and Freda Cooper, playing with Market Rasen’s Bridget Holmes and Aileen Sellars, were fourth with 75 on countback from Kenwick’s Elaine Houlton, Carla Clyburn and Judith Gorman (Cleethorpes), and Trish Swaby (Waltham Windmill).
Helen Bradshaw (Canwick Park) won nearest the pin for the visitors at the second hole, and Lesley Burton took the members’ prize at the 17th.
* The ladies’ June medal saw Anne Gardiner returned from a serious back injury to win the bronze division with an outstanding score of 89-24=65, while Val Pattinson (92-17=75) won the silver. Birdie Dawson shot the best gross round of 85.
