Pupils from St Michael’s Primary School have been proving their sporting prowess once again after qualifying for county rugby finals.
Hot on the heels of district triumphs in football and quicksticks hockey, pupils returned to London Road for the Wolds School Sports Partnership Tag Rugby Festival.
The Louth primary school were up against North Somercotes Primary, Holton-le-Clay Junior, Lacey Gardens Junior and Grimoldby Primary.
The 13 teams were divided into two leagues where St Michael’s first team came top of the Blue League and Lacey Gardens Seconds won the Green League.
In a closely-fought final between the two group winners St Michael’s ran out as winners by two tries to nil and next head off to Lincoln for the county finals.
St Michael’s headteacher Paul Fox said: “Well done to all the teams who were inspired by the Rugby World Cup and played the game in the right spirit.
“And a big thank you to Cordeaux Academy for assisting with the organisation.”
