Louth Tri Club took to Skegness to compete in the first part of The Lincs Tri Series Events at Richmond Holiday Park.
A 400 metre swim was the first task of the day, where the Louth competitors enjoyed their usual strong support, followed by an 18km cycle ride towards Gibraltar Point over two laps of a flat course.
The final leg was a run along private roads from Richmond Holiday Park and around the Skegness Eco Coastal Centre for two laps.
This triathlon is a great opportunity for first-timers as well as seasoned triathletes, and Louth showed strong presence in the results.
Harriet Johnson finished second female, and 20th overall, completing in a time of 1hr 6min 12secs, and will go on to compete at Louth in the second leg on September 4 with an excellent lead in the Series.
The club had five females in the top 20, and Harriet will not be short of competition. The club will also field strong teams in the Triathlon Relays Championships in August.
The highest-placed Louth male was Duncan Worrell (1hr 2min 23secs) who crossed the line eighth overall, closely followed by club chairman Steve Hunt in 1hr 3min 53secs.
Over the coming weeks club members will be competing at many events including the European Qualifiers at Nottingham and the ITU World Series in Leeds.
The next local event is Woodhall Spa on June 26.
