Pupils from 10 primary schools battle it out in cross country competition

A PRIMARY school cross country event took place at Monks Dyke Technology College in Louth.

It was organised and run by the Coastal and Wolds School Sports Partnership and was supported by schools including Caistor Yarborough, Caistor Grammar, Monks Dyke, Birbeck, De Aston, King Edward VI and Cordeaux.

The ten schools who entered the event were Tetney, Kelsey, Grasby, North Thoresby, St Michaels, Tealby, North Somercotes, Holton le Clay, Lacey Gardens and North Cockerington.

There were four races that took place over two age groups.

To help raise the awareness of the London Olympics 2012 an Olympic style torch has been produced by Caistor Grammar School. North Somercotes Primary was awarded the torch at this event for their determination shown on the day.
