The annual Procession of the Cross on Good Friday at Red Hill, Asterby, near Donington on Bain, attracts crowds of people from a wide surrounding area.

And even more are expected this year, as the preacher at the service, which follows in the natural hollow at the top of the hill, is the Right Rev Christopher Lowson, Bishop of Lincoln.

The procession starts at 10am from the bottom of the hill and makes its way up following the three wooden crosses, which are erected on the hillside while the service takes place.

The acting Rural Dean, the Rev Mark Holden, will lead the service and music to accompany the singing of the hymns will be provided by the Bannovallum Band.
