With Christmas on the horizon, why not head to your local market to pick up a treat for yourself or a loved one?
This winter, in addition to the weekly street markets in Louth (Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays), Horncastle (Thursdays and Saturdays) and Spilsby (Mondays), there will be a host of specialist markets held in the run up to Christmas.
On Friday, December 12 there will be a Food Friday Market in Louth with lots of tasty treats in store. The following day Horncastle’s last Craft Market of the year will take place and on Sunday, December 14, a special Winter Market will take place in Louth.
And on Saturday, December 20 Louth Craft Market will be held. The last market of the year – Louth Farmers’ Market, will take place on Wednesday, December 24.
Portfolio Holder for the Environment, Councillor Steve O’Dare, said: “There are so many reasons to visit your local markets, and more so at this time of the year. Whether you are looking for tasty local produce for your festive meal, or a unique gift for a loved one, take a wander through any of our local markets and see what you can find.”
There will be no markets held between December 25 and January 1. The first market of 2015 will be Louth’s regular weekly market on Friday, January 2.
