Louth Riverhead Theatre brings John Elliott into the limelight who will be playing a manipulative cabinet secretary in a production of ‘Yes Prime Minister.’
John is from Little Carlton near Louth and has been playing parts with the theatre company since 1985.
He has played iconic roles such as Antonio Salieri in Amadeus, Danny in Brassed Off and the eponymous role(s) in Jekyll and Hyde.
John will be playing the ever-wily and manipulative Sir Humphrey Appleby as cabinet secretary in the production and it’s a role he can’t wait to play in front of audiences in Louth next week.
John was born in Grimoldby where he spent his childhood and was educated in Louth before going to Nottingham University to study pharmacy.
Despite moving around between Grimsby, Cleethorpes, Waltham and Norfolk, he was always keen to return home and coming into the theatre world locally seemed to be the right fit for him and his wife Maggie, who is also an active playgoers theatre member.
John also has other keen interests in his spare time, which includes playing the piano and walking.
Plus, since moving back to his roots, he was delighted to be asked to be the organist at Great Carlton church.
He also likes to be part of the Riverhead Theatre’s front of house goings on and duties.
If you are intrigued by the production and wish to see John in action, performing in ‘Yes, Prime Minister’ at Louth Riverhead theatre, the production will be showing from Monday, November 10 until Saturday, November 15.
