Watch pupils model new uniform at the Richmond Primary Academy in Skegness

The new partnership with DRET was announced after half term in March – and the school invited Lincolnshire World along to speak to pupils who had volunteered to model the new teal uniform.

To help parents and guardians with the transition, the will receive two free sweatshirts in a new teal colour, a PE shirt and a branded water bottle with the new school logo.

‘It’s so cosy,’ ‘I love the bright colour’, ‘the dress is really cool when I look at it’, ‘the sweatshirt is really soft inside’and ‘it’s cosy and comfy’ are some of the other comments from our young models.

Headteacher Vicky Ross was very excited about the changes since joining DRET. “The changes have been brilliant. The DRET team have been in the school working with me driving forward our development.

"We been participating in sports events with DRET – our football team actually came second in the spring cup.

"We’ve visited other DRET schools. The children are really excited. One of them said to me the other day ‘I really like this new school.

"The response to the uniform has also been very positive. The children are excited about the colour and parents are excited they can access grey trousers and white shirts easier than before.”

Simon Rose, Director of Primary at DRET, said the Trust was delighted to have the Richmond join their family, which in the area also includes Skegness Grammar School, Eresby Special School, King Edward VI Academy and Hogsthorpe Primary Academy.

Mr Rose said: “We are extremely enthusiastice and excited about the Richmond joining us.

"The school has a strong reputation locally but equally there is a strong relationship with Skegness Grammar School and KEVI in Spilsby.

"We want to build on the school’s successes and the fact they have strong leaders and teachers to support the academic improvements.

"But at the same time we want to give opportunity in the arts and sport – that is what we are about.”
