Salmons are caught by league title rivals

Ancaster Salmons dropped to second in the Grantham & District Sunday League following a 3-0 home defeat to new Willow Lane Motors League Shield leaders Harrowby FC.

Third-bottom Pointon Sunday lost 7-2 at mid-table AFC Beehive while third-placed Nobody Inn Athletic secured a 3-1 home win against mid-table Sleaford United to keep the pressure on the top two sides in the table.

The other game this weekend saw hosts Ropsley, in fourth, beat Ancaster Athletic Rams 3-1.

League action will resume on January 3.
